About Nicole
Nicole got her first taste of riding at age 8 while attending a summer camp, and by the time she was 13 she finally convinced her parents to buy her a horse. After high school, Nicole spent two years in Oxfordshire, England as a working student for Princess Anne’s coach, Alison Oliver. After returning home Nicole had many successes including finishing as top Ontario Young Rider in both 1992 and 1993. Nicole would achieve international success with Dillon the Villain, an English Thoroughbred she brought up through the ranks herself. The pair competed successfully in many CCI*** competitions during their career and won Advanced horse trials both on Canadian and American soil. Nicole has been long listed for the Canadian Team in 1995,1996 and 2006, and named to the Talent Squad in 2009 and 2010. Nicole and her most recent mount Lexus won the CCI* and Bromont in 2008 and was also victorious at the CCI** at Ocala horse Park this past spring. From 2000 to 2005 Nicole managed Checkmate Equestrian Centre and organized the multilevel events held there. She currently runs her own private training stable near Orangeville, Ontario and thoroughly enjoys teaching students and helping clients get the most out of their mounts. Nicole has been fortunate to train with some of North Americas top coaches. Spending time with Jimmy Woffard, Mike Plumb, Peter Grey and David O’conner, she has been able to gain valuable tools and experience. Nicole spent several years training with Phillip Dutton, one of the United States top riders and trainers. Phillips facility is noted as the premier eventing stable in North America. This past winter Nicole took 4 horses and based with Sharon White at the beautiful Mardanza Farms in Ocala. Sharon has had an extensive career, has a giant wealth of knowledge and wonderful teaching style. NIcole looks forward to continuing to learn for her. |
